If you have been away from church for some time, or if you are a "seeker" who desires to know more about the Christian faith, you will find that our members come from various religious backgrounds and experiences. Some of us were raised Lutheran, but many of us found our way to St. Andrew in other ways. Here you will find former Roman Catholics, Episcopalians, Congregationalists, Methodists, etc. as well as people who had little or no prior church experience.

We are not perfect, nor do we have all the answers. We don’t necessarily all agree about some of the issues which have divided other faith communities. What we can offer to you is the gift of God’s unconditional love and forgiveness made known in the person of Jesus Christ. We believe that it is our Christian duty to welcome and love others, as Christ welcomes and loves us. It is that same love which, poured out by the power of the Holy Spirit in Baptism, unites us in the one holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church is part of the Central Connecticut Conference of the New England Synod.

We are located in the northeast section of Bristol, city of approximately 60,000 located 15 miles west of Hartford. Our members come from a variety of communities in the greater Bristol area, including Avon, Bristol, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, Forestville, New Britain, New Hartford, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, Torrington, Unionville, Waterbury, Watertown, West Hartford and Wolcott.
We are committed to SEEKING out people for membership in Christ's family, STUDYING God's word together, that we may grow in his grace, STRENGTHENING our lives through regular worship and fellowship, and SHARING our time, talent and treasure, that Jesus will be known to all people through our words and deeds.
